Loss still finds a way to take your breath away and redefine words you thought you understood. “Step Dad” never quite fit, because you were so much more. You showed up, you stayed steady and you loved without obligation. And to our kids you were simply the BEST Grandpa. The kind who made them feel safe, seen and deeply loved. The kind whose presence became part of their everyday world and whose absence will be felt in all the quite moments ahead.
